Versature recommends QuickTime Player (Macintosh) or Windows Media Player (Windows) as the default media player for use with Versature Voicemail files. Do not use iTunes to play your voicemail messages: it saves your voicemail to your music library — whether you intended to save those messages or not — and commingles them with your music files.

Here’s how to set up the default player for your .wav files.

Windows

  1. Right-click any .wav file.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Click Change.
  5. Select QuickTime Player or Windows Media Player.
  6. Click OK to close the Open with window.
  7. Click OK to close the Properties window.

Macintosh

  1. Control-click a .wav file.
  2. Select Get Info.
  3. About halfway down the Info window, click the Open with: arrow if necessary.
  4. From the menu, select QuickTime Player.
  5. Click Change All.
  6. When prompted to change all similar documents (WAVE audio files), click Continue.
  7. Close the Info window.
